"EDUTOPIA—The word conjures up an ideal educational landscape, where students are motivated to learn and teachers are energized by the excitement of teaching. In these schools, parents and other professionals from the community -- architects, artists, physicians, and writers, among others -- contribute their expertise and resources. Technology is readily available and enables students, teachers, and administrators to seek knowledge and expertise beyond the school building. "Edutopia" is a vision of powerful teaching and learning -- and the good news is that the vision is being realized today in our nation's best schools."

PodStock 2010
Podstock 2010 will take place July 16 and 17 in Wichita, Kansas. Join the Podstock 2010 Facebook Event to stay up to date about the conference, as well as the conference Ning. Podstock is not just a conference, as Kevin explains it is envisioned as a MOVEMENT.

The Birdhouse Project is a project-based healing book meant to help the reader move past the loss, shame, grief, or fear that has them paralyzed in the present. The book will stir the emotions of the heart, then guide the mind through a process of connecting steps of the healing process to a specific part of the birdhouse.  After completing each step by taking ownership and facing the limits in one’s life, then follow the final process to

assemble the birdhouse, which symbolizes the new life you are welcoming.  http://thebirdhouseproject.com

This project was created by a good friend of mine Kris Munsch.  Please check it out.

DID YOU KNOW
We spend $1 million per year to keep 1 soldier on the ground in Afghanistan, according to Robert Gibbs, White House spokesman.
We spend $47,780 per year to keep 1 Kansas senator in the state
legislature in Topeka, according to Answer.com.
We spend $35,632 per year to keep 1 inmate in Kansas prisons, according
to PBS.
But some of our Kansas legislative leadership thinks that $4,100 is
too much money to spend per year to keep 1 Kansas school child educated.
